Whether you’re stepping into the saddle for the first time or looking to become a more confident, capable rider, River Walk Arena offers individualized riding lessons rooted in all-around Western horsemanship, practical riding skills, and a deeper understanding of the horse.
Western Riding Lessons
Build Confidence. Improve Communication. Become a Better Horseman.
Who Are the Lessons For?
Ride Our Horses or Bring Your Own
Lessons at River Walk Arena are available on both our lesson horses and privately owned horses, allowing instruction to meet you wherever you are in your riding journey.
Ride a River Walk Horse
You don’t need to own a horse to get started. Our experienced lesson horses give riders the opportunity to learn and develop their skills on a horse suited to their ability level. Whether you’re brand new to riding or continuing to build your confidence, we’ll help create a lesson experience that meets you where you are.
Bring Your Own Horse
Already have a horse? Bring them with you. Lessons can focus on strengthening communication, working through specific challenges, building confidence, and developing a more capable and willing partnership between you and your horse.
All-Around Western Horsemanship
At River Walk Arena, riding lessons go beyond simply learning how to stay in the saddle. Our approach focuses on developing well-rounded horsemen through practical Western riding skills, thoughtful communication, and a deeper understanding of the horse.
Confidence Beyond the Arena
Their obstacle program isn’t just recreational. They specifically use obstacles to develop confidence, accuracy, patience, body control, trust and communication, including preparation for unfamiliar trail situations.
